Microbial Induced Corrosion of Concrete – Mitigation Strategies
Microbiologically Induced Corrosion of Concrete (MICC) is a phenomenon that can occur in the presence of specific environmental and wastewater conditions.
During this session, Sam Lines with Concrete Sealants and Claude Goguen with the National Precast Concrete Association will discuss the conditions that can lead to MICC. They will explain the impact of septic system design, and how existing systems can be modified to help prevent issues. They will also talk about other strategies that can be used in tank manufacturing or in the field to protect the system. Information will be shared from numerous field and laboratory studies related to MICC.
